Short Creek Meeting

"The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Mark 10:45.
Short Creek Meetinghouse was erected in 1862 in a country setting near Harrisville, Ohio in southern Jefferson County.
Our small Meeting is dedicated to the Christian nurture and support of our members and through them to their families, friends, coworkers, and all those the Lord leads us to see as our neighbors. Worship is held on First Day morning at 10:30, at the meetinghouse except in the case of extreme weather. Worship meetings are also occasionally held in members' homes.
Typically we begin with a brief time of sharing inspirational readings or Bible reading. Then meeting for worship begins, with expectant waiting on, and listening for, our Lord's voice within to guide, strengthen, convict, and forgive. If children are present, they stay with the adults during worship. The last part of the meeting for worship includes a story or other age-appropriate activity designed to teach Christ's way and lead the young ones toward Christian maturity.
We welcome visitors to share in these Christ-centered unprogrammed meetings for worship. Please call ahead to be sure meeting will be held that day. 740-546-3814 or 740-546-3580.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." --Proverbs 3:5,6."
